My fellow citizens,

I am deeply grateful to all those who supported our campaign and shared our vision for Dorval. To the citizens of Dorval, thank you for your trust, your engagement and the respectful way in which you participated in this election. Your involvement has strengthened the very fabric of our city’s democracy.

I am especially proud of our three Démocratie Dorval members elected to council: Pascal Brault, Linda Jun Lu and Joe Bou-Faisal. The dedication, integrity and commitment to our community by each member of our team have been an inspiration throughout this journey. I am convinced that Pascal, Linda and Joe will continue to represent you in accordance with the principles on which you elected them.

I extend my congratulations to Marc Doret and the other members of council elected: Paul Trudeau, Nicole Duchastel and Christopher von Roretz.

To my team members Yolande Goufack, Dr. Chitra Chopra and Isabelle Louis XVI, thank you for your dedication and commitment throughout this campaign. It was a pleasure to work alongside you and to learn so much from each of you.

To our incredible team of volunteers, my heartfelt thanks. We couldn’t have done it without you. Your dedication, energy and belief in our vision made all the difference.

A very special thank-you to Maria R. Battaglia, Ad. E., our official agent and campaign manager, whose dedication, fairness and deep love for Dorval guided our campaign with integrity and professionalism; and to my family for your patience, understanding and constant encouragement. Your love and support gave me the strength to give my all in this campaign and I am profoundly grateful for your presence through every step of this journey.

While I am of course disappointed not to have the honour of leading our city, the people have spoken and we respect their voice. That is the essence and beauty of democracy: the will of the people must always prevail.

Our work to build a stronger, more transparent and community-driven Dorval continues. I remain hopeful for Dorval’s future and confident that together we will continue moving our city forward.
