October 1 – marks the International Day of Older Persons

On October 1st  we celebrate the wisdom, strength and contributions of our seniors. The International Day of Older Persons is a reminder of the immense value that older generations bring to our families, our communities and our society.

 

We recognize that as we honour the past, we must also look to the future—ensuring that our seniors are never left in isolation. They deserve opportunities to stay active, engaged, and connected physically, mentally and socially.

 

Our city needs to provide a welcoming place where seniors can gather, share meals, enjoy activities and celebrate life together. This is not only about respect and gratitude, but also about dignity, health and belonging.
